Come join us on Friday April 17, at 7:30, for a unique melding of music at Echoes from East to West. Come for a fabulous experience as this event brings Persian and European musical traditions into conversation, allowing musical echoes from different worlds to resonate with one another in unexpected ways. Works by Henry Purcell, Claudio Monteverdi, Diego Ortiz, and John Dowland are reimagined with the serpent replacing the human voice, performed by West Hartford–born historical brass specialist Alexander Belser. The program brings together serpent, flute, harpsichord, and baroque cello, featuring award winning Iranian/Pakistani/American flautist Amir Farsi, Farmington-based harpsichordist Juan Mesa, and cellist-composer Dr. Jessica Korotkin.
A reception will follow this event.
This concert is free admission, with donations received. Checks payable to Music at the Red Door or click here to donate online
