About New World Trio: Founded in 1985 by violinist Anhared Stowe, New World Trio presents wide-ranging concerts of both classical and contemporary chamber music works, performed with consummate artistry. New World has held residencies at some of the finest venues in Connecticut, including The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts and The Hartt School. Now in residence at St. John’s Episcopal Church, the trio typically gives 12-15 concerts annually throughout the state. In addition to its live performances, New World was regularly featured on WNPR’s “Best of Connecticut Concert Hall Live” program.
One particularly noteworthy aspect of the group is its dedication to integrating fine music from all periods. New commissioned works, Connecticut premieres, and 21st Century works are performed side-by-side with the best of the established repertoire, often with the composer present. These programs are carefully developed to provide a complete listening experience that cannot be replicated elsewhere. Lauded as“…an exemplar…” by Chamber Music America, this approach to performance has been an integral part of its mission from its founding nearly four decades ago.
New World Trio receives support from the Department of Economic and Community Development, Connecticut Office of the Arts, which also receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.
